What to do in case of an Emergency
If you break or loosen any of your appliances, please notify our office immediately. By calling our office, you will allow us time to schedule a time to see you. Please notify us about any repair your appliance may need even if you already have an appointment.
Loose Brackets
Please notify our office immediately for advice on what to do if a bracket or wire is loose. Your bracket may need to be re-fitted as soon as possible. Some situations may require a wire to be cut or a bracket to be taken off a wire at night or during a weekend. In case of an emergency and you need to cut a wire, wash and sterilize fingernail clippers in alcohol and cut the wire. Please contact our office the next business day to make an appointment.
Wire Irritations
Wires can sometimes cause irritations or discomfort. Using a cotton swab or an eraser, move the wire that is irritating the area. If the wire does not move, cover it with a small piece of cotton or a small amount of wax. If it is still causing painful irritation, wash and sterilize fingernail clippers in alcohol and cut the wire. If the problem cannot be resolved, please call our office for an appointment.
Lost Separators
If you lose your separators during treatment, call the office to see if you need to have them replaced.
